The Deputy Director is a key member of the senior
management team providing program and
administrative management and for ensuring office
operations are conducted effectively and efficiently
in support of OSIEA programs. Based in Nairobi, the
position works with the entire team and reports to
the Executive director to ensure performance
standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES;
Program management and staff supervision
• Assist the Director to provide strategic vision,
guidance and leadership on matters relating to
OSIEA’S programming, strategy, management,
governance and budget
• Supervise, mentor and provide substantive
guidance, feedback and support to designated
progam staff in refining the overall strategic
direction of OSIEA’s focus areas, in establishing
program priorities and in designing and carrying out
projects
• Assist the Director to put into place a process
to oversee the preparation of the annual program
strategy and budget plans with the director,
program staff and board, including an annual staff
retreat.
• Assist the Director in overseeing the production
of OSIEA communications and publications,
including by writing and editing documents
• Develop and apply learning, monitoring and
evaluation criteria to better measure the
effectiveness and outcomes of OSIEA projects
• As required, represent the Director at meetings
within the OSI network and externally
• Develop and coordinate special projects as
requisted by the Director.
Office management and Administration
• Oversee the financial and administrative
departments and ensure that operations in all OSIEA
offices are streamlined efficiently in compliance with
legal and administrative requirements
• Assist the Director in planning for and
preparation of OSIEA board meetings, including the
grant approval process
• Develop and oversee mechanisms for regular
staff communication, including monthly conference
calls and regular meetings/calls between relevant
colleagues as well as the board
• Serve as the primary contact for financial
oversight throughout the year
• Oversee security procedures
QUALIFICATIONS;
• Advanced Degree and at least ten years work
experience
• Substantive knowledge of the east Africa region
• Five years experience as a manager with an
understanding of the principles and practices
involved in the effective management of a complex
institutions. Must enjoy management
• Proven commitment to the protection of human
rights and knowledge of the east African region
• Extraordinary initiative, creativity and capacity
to think strategically
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
with a diverse array of people
• Team spirit and respectful working and decision-
making style
• Ability to manage several simultaneous projects
in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and close attention
to detail
• Integrit, diplomatic manner and professional
discretion essential
• Willingness to travel as needed

Act No. 24 of 2002 on 16th June 2014 and issued

TAISODE was establishment for the purpose of
combating disease, hunger, illiteracy and poverty
through sustainable approaches. TAISODE is
currently looking to recruit an accountant to be
based in Kahama.

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT (ONE POSITION)
Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Kahama, Shinyanga
Salary: Negotiable but attractive
Duration: One year contract (renewable).
Functional Responsibilities:
1. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in
line with narrative reports that
meet the requirements of the projects.
2. Prepare quarterly monthly and financial reports
and ad hoc financial reports
3. Submit quarterly reports
4. To ensure that project cash flows (income,
expenditure and fund transfers) are
managed in a timely and accurate manner
5. Provide ongoing financial risk analysis and
recommendations of risk management
strategies
6. Process daily organizational financial matters
such as daily payments and receipt,
update and prepare monthly bank statement,
reconciliation, and consolidation of
annual financial report as per organizational
guidelines.
7. Participate in daily financial and administrative
needs such as procurement
processes, budgeting, participate in external and
audits including interim audits
internal audit and field visits.
8. Maintain asset and other office supply in
collaboration with the project part time
storekeeper and other duties as directed by the
management.
9. Be in charge of all financial management in the
Kahama office

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in accounts with a minimum of two
year experience working as an
accountant in NGOs
Knowledge in using any accounting software.
Knowledge in computer application.

Customer relations, Report writing skills and at
least three (3) years' experience in cement or
manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise Drilling, Blasting, Hauling and Crushing
operation in a shift, Conduct survey of mine and
stocks using total station and GPS, Training of
subordinates, Ensure targets are met, Meeting
production targets, Efficient operation of units. The
candidate will also be responsible for safe working
practices and environmental compliance.
