WOMEN & ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION
1. CBTS –COMMUNITY BASED TRAINERS 60 (PART TIME)

Report to: Project Coordinator
Locations: Turiani - Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Description: To provide training on VSL, women rights.



Key responsibilities:
• Conduct needs assessment of the trainees working with the PC;
• Plan and organize various training programmes for the VSL members
• Develop inventory of resource institutions and resource persons to carry out various training in and out of the WECA.
• Plan and organize training programmes – packaging, bee keeping, saving, supporting IG e.t.c;
• Establish linkages with financial institutions, MFIs and government departments for training, land acquisition, women sensitization and mobilasation .
• Working with SCDO to give support to IG women, men and boys for collective action initiatives for the fulfillment of women’s rights (including IG women’s participation in local-level decision-making processes)
• Train VSLs on budgeting and budget monitoring

Essential profile:
• Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as CBTs.
• Understanding of issues related to VSLs
• Computer literacy.

Desirable:
• Good working knowledge of local languages
• Expert in women mobilisation

2. PROGRAM COORDINATOR (PC) - 1 (FULL TIME)
Location: Turiani - Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Description: The GWEP program coordinator will be responsible for managing all activities of the WECA. S/He will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the program office. The PC will manage a small team based in WECA Turiani Office as well as managing inputs from consultants and contracted partiner (Care Tanzania).

Report to: Program Coordinator, Turiani –Morogoro, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities:
• Together with Project staff set up the WECA program office.
• Supervise WECA staff and CBTs and provide oversight for all project activities;
• Ensure correct and timely implementation of project activities;
• Liaise and develop good relationships with key project stakeholders including Care, government (national and district), employers, communities, NGOs, DPOs, INGOs, international donors to raise awareness of women issues and advocate for change in policies.
• Create and manage database of candidates with support from the Finance/Admin post;
• Develop WECA plans in conjunction with the WECA support team and board;
• Manage trainings and track performance of women benefited from trainings and VSL;
• Contract and manage CBTs and other consultants where need be;
• Develop local fundraising initiatives to strengthen the WECA and its activities, and contribute to sustainability;
• Track operational budget and provide monthly financial reports to the WECA Board Chairperson and partiner (Care Tanzania) on project spend, working closely with the Finance/Admin Officer;
• Monitor and evaluate all project activities and ensure that all relevant data collected and reported correctly;
• Carrying out staff appraisals, managing performance and disciplining staff;
• Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output;
• promoting staff development and training;
• Implementing and promoting equality and diversity policy;
• writing reports for senior management and delivering presentations;
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the Board Chairperson.

Education and Experience
Essential:
• Degree level education.
• Two to five years of work experience in areas relating to training and promoting livelihoods for women, advocacy, and policy changes.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Proven report writing skills
• Computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Should have an understanding of women related issues.
Desirable:
• Good working knowledge of local language.
• Knowledge of VSL.
• Valid Motorbike Driving license

3. SOCIAL CHANGE & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER –SCDO 1 (FULL TIME)
Location: Turiani - Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Description: The GWEP Social change and development officer will be responsible for day to day implementation of program activities to ensure realization of program outcomes.

Report to: Program Coordinator, Turiani –Morogoro, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure support is given to VSL members to develop profitable IGAs, including advice on branding, packaging and value addition;
2. Support and or train VSL members to advocate for women’s rights to land;
3. Facilitate IG women and male counterparts sensitization on women’s rights;
4. Give support to IG women, men and boys for collective action initiatives for the fulfillment of women’s rights (including IG women’s participation in local-level decision-making processes);
5. Coordinate spaces/forums for accommodating interactions and dialogues between IG and duty bearers established;
6. Ogranise ( in collaboration with CBTs) for members of VSL groups to be trained to track public resources;
7. Ensure that duty bearers at local and national level are sensitized on women’s rights;
8. Prepare narrative reports (activity based reports, weekly, monthly, case studies, quotaly e.t.c) and all other reports as guided by PC;
9. Monitor and evaluate all project activities and ensure that all relevant data collected and reported correctly;
10. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Program coodinator.

4. OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR – 1 (FULL TIME)
Report to: Project Coordinator
Locations: Turiani -Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Description: The incumbent will undertake a range of functions to make sure the administration activities within an organisation run smoothly. S/He will be responsible for the management of human resources, budgets, accommodation and property facilities and records.
Key responsibilities:
1. Using a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases; managing filing systems;
2. Providing administrative support to WECA personnel, which may include procurement of supplies, equipment and materials for specified activities.
3. Management of social media –e.g facebook account, twitter, event pictures;
4. Developing and implementing new administrative systems, such as record management;
5. Organising the office layout and maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment;
6. Maintaining the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs;
7. Organising office meetings for staff - include typing the agenda and taking minutes;
8. Reviewing and updating health and safety policies and ensuring they are observed;
9. Arranging regular testing for electrical equipment and safety devices;
10. Keep record of usage of all the equipments
11. Attending conferences and training.
12. Keep records off all visitors
13. supervise and coordinate activities of part time staff
14. Administer salaries and work out leave entitlements
15. Maintain management information systems (manual or computerized)
16. Review and answer correspondence
17. Provide secretarial or executive services for committees.
18. Compiling reports, photocopying documents, preparation of venues and materials for presentations, meetings and workshops.
19. Responsible for purchasing of WECA cleaning materials, tea and coffee and other basic items
20. Responsible for photocopying the office forms and ensuring that they are available at all times
21. Other administrative activities as deemed necessary.

Essential Profile:
• able to supervise
• good oral and written communication skills
• aptitude for working with computers
• good organisation skills.
• Valid motorbike driving licence (compulsory)

5. PROGRAM ACCOUNTANT – 1 (FULL TIME)
Report to: Project Coordinator
Locations: Turiani -Morogoro, Tanzania
Job Description: The Program Accountant will maintain the WECA financial accounts in an effective and efficient manner; documentation of all the project records including financial and budget updates and maintain the financial systems as prescribed by the Care Partnership Support Manager.

Key responsibilities:
1. Keeping financial records for WECA related activities
2. Maintain asset register
3. Preparing financial reports on a monthly basis for review by the Program coordinator and submission to the GWEP Partnership Support Manager.
4. Prepare payments and accounting for expenditure to Care Tanzania.
5. Responsible for supporting the development of Project Budgets
6. Recording office expenditure
7. Prepare annual expenditure and communicate to the Program coordinator.

Essential Profile:
• Degree in accounting / CPA
• Two to five years of work experience in areas relating to finance and administration
• Good communication skills in English, both written and oral.
• Well organised and able to work individually as well as part of a team
• Computer literacy and knowledge of accounting packages
