EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is Tanzania’s sole standards body, formerly established by the Standards Act No. 3 of 1975, which was repealed and replaced by the Standards Act No. 2 of 2009. It is a Parastatal Organization under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Bureau is looking for suitably, qualified, competent and committed Tanzanians to fill the following one vacancy:


OFFICE ASSISTANT II (1 POST)
Qualifications and Experience
• Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in English, Kiswahili and Mathematics, also must have relevant Certificate in Office Management skills from recognized Institution.
• One year relevant working experience is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Cleaning, dusting and washing floors and walls in specific offices
• Movement of files and other documents to destinations in and out of the Bureau
• Shift materials from one destination to another
• Assisting Record Management Assistants in addressing outgoing mail
• Assisting in filing documents and maintaining records of file movements
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Section.

Age limit
• Between 25 to 30 years old

REMUNERATION
The post carries an attractive remuneration package in accordance to the qualifications and experience as stated above.

VACANCY
POSITION: PROJECT COORDINATOR (1 POST)
The candidate will be responsible to ensure that the client’s requirements are met, the project is completed on time and within the approved budget. Other functions include but not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities;
• Work with project committee in preparing the Annual work plan, yearly budgets of the project and oversee implementation schedules as per approved budget, and supervise overall technical, administrative and financial implementation of the project.
• Oversee the management of project resources in collaboration with the project committee and Directorates
• Ensure adherence to EU Project Rules and Regulations as well as procurement procedures and processes (technical and financial) as laid out in the project practical Guide (PRAG)
• Assist the Project Committee and HR Office in organizing workshops, seminars and meetings connected with the project
• Assist the Director General, with regular project updates and project financial progress, to measure financial progress against technical progress
• Evaluating the project requirements and providing useful assistance to serve project needs
• Assist the project, with financial, procurement and HR issues if and when needed
• Receive and arrange for reproduction and circulation of reports, studies and other relevant project documentation
• Secure the submission of a detailed expenditure report of the project, on monthly and quarterly basis
Minimum Qualifications and experience required
Education requirements:
Holder of Master’s Degree in project planning and management or master’s Degree in Business administration with focus on project management from recognized University/Institution.
Qualitative requirement:
The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent command of English, Attention to details, computer literate, work well individually and as part of a team, and able to priorities and plan ahead
Experience:
A minimum of five years work experience with donor funded projects

ACCOUNTANT (1 POST)
The candidate will be responsible for all accounting procedures which includes identifying, recording, classifying, reporting and interpreting the financial condition and performance of the project. Other functions include but not limited to the following
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To prepare accounting systems
• To check accuracy of project financial reports
• To verify accounts receivables
• To prepare project Assets Register
• To cross check cheque list-against voucher list
• To control and monitor project expenditures in accordance to the programme estimates
• To respond to audit queries
• To monitor and control the projectimplementation plan and programme estimates
• To prepare replenishment requests
• To prepare project finance reconciliation statements
Minimum Qualifications and experience required
Education requirements:
Holder of Master’s Degree in Accounting/finance or commerce from recognized University/Institution with CPA (T), ACCA and any other recognized professional qualifications
Qualitative requirement:
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
• skills in performing detailed numerical computation;
• skills in preparing detailed reports on timely basis;
• skills in both verbal and written communication; and
• skills in the use of computer hardware and software (Accounting software)
Experience
• At least five years of working experience in accounting field with donor funded projects
• Demonstrate results in project finance is distinct advantage
